My Web Design Work Strategy

Step 1: Introduction Meeting

Before we start any work on your site we will have an introduction meeting, via Skype or Zoom, or preferably live, if possible.

In this meeting we will have a look at what your ideas and plans are for the website to see if we will be a good match and find out what softwares you may need, we’ll then address my price and the time it will take to complete the project. We will agree on a fixed price so that you know exactly how much it will cost and can have me do as many changes as you want without worrying for extra costs, however if you later decide you want more pages or extra features it will include extra costs.

Step 2: Domain Name & Hosting

Firstly you will choose your domain name, normally this would be your brand name but you may like something else if your just setting up a blog or want to use your site for more than just your business, in the case that your desired domain is already taken I can contact it’s owner and see if they are willing to sell it for an affordable price (if the owner is already actively using the domain this is most probably not an option) or you may want to alter some part of the name or use a different prefix (tho I wouldn’t suggest you do this due to possible trademark infringement). If you want to rebuild an old site and already have your desired domain name we can skip this step.

Secondly you will need a domain hosting service for your domain. Again, if you already have a web hosting service we do not have to worry about this.

The costs of these two services are excluded from my design price and have to be seen as separate costs as they will be long term payments for keeping your site online, that will continue long after my work is done.

Step 3: Text & Images

You will then send me all the text and images for each page of your site, with a clear description as to how they are to be displayed (such as special fonts if desired, where images are to be located, special designs such as boxes, image outline, etc…) If you have no special idea on how you want the content placed I will help you with that and set it up as I see most fitting, and then ask you for additional feedback. If you don’t have certain or any text or images and would like me to provide them for you I can offer these services but they would come with extra costs, as this would be more work and I might have to work with third-party agents for specialist skills. I recommend using high quality images. I may sometimes suggest changing text due to improper spelling or to low SEO value but I will never change the text without first having your approval.

Step 4: Designing

Before I begin designing the pages, I will make the header in the way you desire and is most appropriate for your business, then when the needed data and design-information is collected I will move on to making your pages, you will be able to see the site 24/7 and send feedback whenever you want. I will continue designing the site until all your expectations are met and you are completely happy with your site.

Step 5: Access To Your Site

Once the website is finished you will get access to control and upgrade your site yourself. You now have your very own website! I offer 1 month free web support and maintenance after the site is completed but after that you will have to maintain the site yourself, or we can agree to have a maintenance plan with a monthly fee.

I suggest you buy the domain name yourself, because if I buy it I will have to transfer the ownership to you when the site is done and that could be a bit of a hassle, it’s easier and quicker for both parties for you to buy the domain name yourself, of course if you are a really non-computer person and really don’t want to buy the domain yourself I can do it for you. If you want to rebuild an old site or already have your desired domain name we can skip this step.

Secondly you will need a domain hosting service for your domain, same as with the domain name I recommend you buy it yourself, but it is less of a problem me to do myself if desired. Most of my clients I recommend to go with Hostinger (hosting provider) as they are very affordable while having fast servers, and I haven’t encountered any problems with them yet. Again, if you already have a web hosting service we do not have to worry about this.

The costs of these two services are excluded from my design price and have to be seen as separate costs as they will be long term payments for keeping up your site that will continue long after my work is done.

You will then send me all the text and images for each page of your site, with a clear description as to how they are to be displayed (such as special fonts if desired, where images are to be located, special designs such as boxes, image outline, etc…) If no appropriate description is sent with the content I will place it as I see most fitting, and then ask you for additional feedback.  I suggest using high quality images and using correct spelling in your text, I may sometimes suggest changing text due to improper spelling or to low SEO value but I will never change the text without first having your approval.
